Le Comte Buffoon on the left, and Pfrank "Bring-Dem-Bach-Alive" Bach on the right. Currently these 2 pre-eminent natural pfilospfers are consulting with the newly arrived Tradgardian scientific expedition concerning the nature of a wild boar captured by Herr Bach on a recent expedition.
When not teaching at the University, curating at the Museum, tending the Botanical Gardens or conducting various experiements, the Comte can often be found in the local countryside, in the woods or the Batrachian marshes, studying nature's creatures. Herr Bach, when not overseeing the Menagerie, is often away on far-flung expeditions capturing specimens for the Soweiter National Menagerie.

He claims that you even posted a painting of him some while back.
He has been known to act militarily on these weird fantasies of his. Please be aware that he has a penchant for sneak attacks.

To Stokes, Thanks for the comments! The minis are from Foundry's new 18th century civilians set. This is one of the things I like about Foundry, the many characterful minis. The Comte reminds of the old British character actor Robert Morley. Interestingly, in his younger days he played King Louis XVI in a movie about Marie Antoinette.
You know? You are quite right. The Comte de Buffoon DOES resemble Robert Morley!

A fine pair of obviously well-bred hunting dogs is delivered to the Comte de Buffoon; and another brace to Pfrank Bach.
Each gift is delivered with a note on very fine vellum. Each is in an obviously feminine hand saying . . .

Lovely paint jobs and I think it's great to see characters as well as the military, as it gives the fictional states a more "lived in" feel I think.
