More New Troops

The Pfennig-Pfarthing Pfreicorps, brother regiment of the Hesse-Pfeffernusse Pfreicorps previously shown, lead by Col. Schilling.

General Jacques von Pflugnickel, of Pfennig-Pfarthing (known as "One-Eyed Jacque"). His mother was from Mayeux, his father from Pfennig-Pfarthing.

The Freicorps and the general are Foundry figures. The dogs are from Gripping Beast, a bear hunt set I bought some time ago. Here's the bear from that set. There are more of the same dogs in the set.

New troops on the way for Batrachia

First up, one of The Wild Goose Chasseurs - the rest should be arriving by the end of the week.
This is a unit of cavalry with most members originating from the Island of Ere, and commanded by Colonel Padraig "Paddy" Baron de Fois Gras.

Next, an officer of Queen Marie Suzette's Royal Musketeers. More of this unit will be mustering in the coming weeks (hopefully to be completed by the end of the month).

New Uniforms?

Proposed uniforms for a couple more states of the League. I realize the blue/light blue/white one is similar to the Mayeux Musketeers, but maybe the uniform style is different enough. On the other hand, since they're on the same side it probably doesn't matter if the colors are similar.
Comments, as always, are welcome (helpful ones are, anyway ;-) ).

Artillery uniforms?

OK, I cheated a bit and used an infantry uniform for testing this. Mainly I'm trying to decide on colors for the Batrachian artillerymen. I'm more inclined to the gray or blue (the latter being the reverse of my Soweiter artillerymen). On the other hand these would be rather dark compared to the pale gray/white of the Batrachian infantry. Not really a problem, but might make the Batrachian seem less coherent (so to speak).
As always I welcome any constructive comments.

Uniforms and a Flag

Just to see what a coat or vest and trews might look like if done up in plaid...
The flag of Bossanova, known as the "Boar Sinister".

Uniforms

The first tartan here is similar to a "real world" Urquhart tartan as shown in one of my reference books. Other possibilities are shown below.

Next up, some possible uniforms for the regular infantry of Bossanova. The actual cut/style is unknown at this point, but as they are described as "foreign" Soweiter artists chose to use the same Tippelbruder templates as are used for the Batrachian forces.

Finally, some of the Batrachian forces. The first 2 (the light blue and the light yellow) are confirmed from actual examples (that is, I have painted toy soldiers in these colors or close facsimiles thereof).

As always, the Soweiter League offers much thanks to David Linienblatt (sp?) of Tippelbruder for generously providing wonderful uniform templates for all and sundry!

More troops on the way

Proposed uniform for the Mayeux Musketeers (I decided to use the musketeers minis for this and save the Fuselli Fusiliers design for when I actually have some fusiliers to paint :-). The coat is a dark blue (even darker than it appears in this rendition, I think), light blue lapels and cuffs, with gold/brass buttons and yellow lace, with white gaiters. Commanded by Colonel Jacque D'Artagnan.

More Uniform and Flag Tryouts

First up, a flag for Santa Sofia. I'm pretty happy with this. The eagle should appear practically solid black.

Second, a flag for Ballyfoole. I'm not sure about this one. Might tweak it some more.

And finally, I tried reversing the red and green for the uniform of the Fuselli Fusiliers of Santa Sofia. I think prefer the other version with the red coat. Maybe if the Santa Sofians get another foot unit I might give them the green coat version (thinking a light/jaeger-type unit, the ____ Cacciatores).

Possible Uniforms

As seen above, the County of Santa Sofia of the Soweiter League is in the process of selecting new uniforms from the fine emporium of Messrs. Tipplebruder. These will be for the Fuselli Fusiliers (I know the minis are supposed to be musketeers, but Fuselli Musketeers doesn't have quite the same ring!). The Fuselli Fusiliers are led by Colonel Giuseppe "Big Joe" Fuselli.

Here are a couple of prospects. The Conte Luigi Funiculi-Funicula of Santa Sofia favors the red/green/yellow combination (the Contessa Rafaella Funiculi-Funicula thinks the Conte is a bit color-blind - ha ha - but she's content to let him have his pretty uniforms). "La uniforme e bella!"
Comments and opinions are welcome.

(still stumbling around not having much luck with the pixellated bitmap versions of the templates I brought a couple into Adobe Illustrator, used live trace and live paint to convert and color them)
