What follows are some recent conversions I made to some Foundry figures, using greenstuff, a bit of "brownstuff" (another Kneadatite epoxy putty, good for sharper edges, can be sanded and worked a bit with knives or files after curing), some wire and leftover bits from my "bits box".
First is an unspecified officer with a flagon of Dragon Ale (slogan:
"The flagon with the dragon has the brew that is true").
Goldberg variations: A view of the Saxe-Goldberg Royal Engineers as seen from the front. These guys are famous for their ingenious devices and engineering works.
A view from the back. They are prepared for all sorts of eventualities and cunning plans, adept at fieldworks, bridges and other marvels of modern engineering.
("A band? What do we need a band for?" "Have a little faith, Beispiel. They're beautiful people.")
The Saxe-Goldberg Royal Engineers are lead by Captain Walbert Weinstein. A famous ancestor of Walbert was the Ritter von Weissknicht.
A view from the other side.
In the meantime... there are a few other minis waiting on the painting desk before these guys get their colors.

Reich Duke Wilhelm von Beerstein says there is nothing more enchanting than a young man with a beer mug in his hand...
Nice work - those figures have real character. :-) (Much more interesting than lots of near identical figures in ranks... ;-))

Hi ya Fitz,
Those are some fine looking lads! Color me "green" with envy at your conversions. Outstanding!
What's next? The chalace from the palace? Ha, ha, ha!
fantastic convertions, you should bring the man with the beer mug to the SYW convention to participate in the capture the duchess scenario.
Thanks for the comments!
Capt Bill, I was tempted to try for a Reich Duchy Beerstein, but settled with the bit as is (maybe another time).
David, yeah, I do like a bit of character in my armies. lol
Prinz Geoffrey, sadly I won't be able to make the SYW convention - it's not a short jaunt from California (I will be watching the blogs for reports on the game though! with pics!).
Martin, I think the chalice from the palace sounds more like something those imperialist Batrachians would go for. ;-)
Remarkable! Original ideas and tremendous realization.
Cheers,
Jean-Louis
Fantastic work! I have never used ( but am so tempted to ) green stuff. Does it adhere well to metal and is it easy to scuplt - do you have to alter the consistancy with water for example...
best wishes
Alan
Nice conversions.

Agreed. Nicely done. If one substitutes that beer stein for a wine glass (or indeed a whole bottle), the officer figure could pass for St. Maurician. Lovely.
Mike
You have a deft hand at the conversions. I especially liked what appears to be a batch of carrots on the engineer's horse.
Jim
Some definitely interesting work on the conversions.
The part that made me smile most, though, was the altered quote. "Have a little faith, baby." I can hear it in my head now. One of those I've seen way too many times.
Alan, greenstuff sticks so well to metal you need some sort of lubricant (vaseline, water, lip balm, nose or forehead "grease", spit have all been mentioned on the 1-list sculpting Yahoo group) to keep it from sticking to tools! Although, sometimes it seems to stick better to tools than to minis. Water doesn't alter the consistency since it doesn't really mix in. It's kind of like trying to sculpt with very sticky chewed gum...
ColCampbell, you are correct about the carrots... stole that idea from Carrol & Tenniel, along with the beehive and the poker, but I added the tools and book (nice little treatise by Graf Philip of Hetzenburg).
SC, lol - wondered who would catch that. One of my favorite movies. Is there such a thing as seeing a movie too many times - of course, it helps if you have a forgetful mind like me! lol
You have a definite skill, sir! Every figure there is a distinct individual. I doff my tricorn to you.
nice conversions, the band figures look nice

Love the figures. I'm always envious of anyone who can produce work like this. Superb!
Steve.
