Uniforms and a Flag

Just to see what a coat or vest and trews might look like if done up in plaid...

Now, as for vest and trews done up in plaid... why not, if worn with a bonnet? They are very, very few historical exemples of coats (and, more generally, 'typical Western European Lace Wars uniforms') made of non-plain fabric: actually I know only 1 unit of militia illustrated in the Osprey 'Louis XV Oversea forces'. So with a tricorn, I guess I should find it "extreme". But with the bonnet anybody associates with tartan it looks far less 'surprising'....

This, for descendant of mercenary Scots settled somewhere in Croatia or Ruritania: too many thorny bushes & scrubs here to remain in kilt!
