F.M. Reich Duke Wilhelm is pleased to announce that the Beerstein Reichstadt has approved a new Ambassador to the Soweiter League. Gen Graf Joffery von Slit will present his credential upon arriving at your court. Along with diplomatic recognition the leader of the Soweiter League will be invested into the Ancient and Honorable Order of the Tankard. Congratulations on a magnificant flag and map for Ober-Umlaut
Best regards,
Wilhelm

That black-on-white over the double-blue background is very striking. I like it a lot.

I like the naive aspect of the maps!

Very pleasant and in-character ongoing map.
Now, The Ober-Umlaut Untersee Horse Marines: I really look forward eagerly to discover an unit with such an intringuing name! The flag suggests something like your blue & silver project of uniform?

Cheers,
Jean-Louis

Thanks for the comments! I hope you're not getting sick of all of these geography lessons, but I have 13 states to cover! ;-)

Jean-Louis, any opinions on the French names on the Mayeux map?

Ober-Umlaut may be one of the few states with any sort of non-terrestrial forces, what with the lake and all (wonder what's on the other side of the lake...?).

Looking forward for the next state! 13 is a good number (and then of course, there'll be Batrachia to cover...). I enjoy your geography far more than, I have to confess it, the 'real' one during my school days.

Indeed the Untersee may require (provide the opportunity for fielding) a flottilla - probably some form of gunboats, Lake Champlain fashion at most, rather than 'Grantian' Xebecs. And to play mini-naval and / or amphibious actions.
Are the Horse Marines some kind of Dragoons? I believe the regiment of Dragoons involved in the British 'descents' on the French coast during the Lace Wars received such a nickname.

The names on the map of Mayeux are charming - a pleasant contribution to the peculiar character of the state.

Cheers,
Jean-Louis

Thanks, Jean-Louis! I don't know much French so I hoped I hadn't comitted any faux pa's with the names. ;-)
Not sure what type of cavalry the Horse Marines are (not until I come across suitable minis).
Yes, the Untersee just might border on Batrachia (maybe even a small Bossanovan presence?)...
